This week on GO LIVE Episode 32, I hung out with Erin Elliott of Post Falls Family Dental in Idaho. Along with her own practice, she is also a national speaker and educator on the important topic of sleep apnea and works side by side with Dr. Tarun Agarwal of 3D Dentists.
She’s a wife and mom to 2 teenage boys, loves to travel, and is a huge advocate for dentists who want to learn how to educate their patients on the warning signs and symptoms of sleep apnea.
“I can’t believe what people live with when there is a better life that they could have.”
Her interest first peaked 12 years ago at the Idaho State Dental Meeting, where she found herself intrigued by the sleep and airways speakers. From that point on, her fire was lit and with her dad as her first patient, it didn’t take long for Erin to find her passion where dental and sleep intersect.
Erin loves her family first and keeps a “work-life harmony” at the forefront of her day-to-day life, but has come to terms with her calling in this space and uses it to show her kids what it looks like to follow your dreams unapologetically.
“We’re made differently, called to [something] different, and we have to be okay with that.”
Instead of just using her skills for her own patients, Erin is invested in sharing her knowledge with dentists from around the world. Her simple, step by step system shows dentists how to implement sleep services into their practice, bypassing years of education and training they may not have invested in otherwise.
“It helps your patients, it’s a huge service to them and makes you a more comprehensive dentist.”
She works through roadblocks and hurdles, overcomes problems, and keeps her goals realistic so that their mission is always at the front of what they do and they are always moving forward.
“Our goal is to bring awareness to one patient a day.”
Dr. Erin is making a splash in the dental industry and has become a pioneer in the sleep apnea space over the last 12 years. If you want to know more about Erin or connect with her, you can find her on Facebook at Erin Elliott DDS or email her at erinelliottdds@gmail.com.
